The inequality gaps between women and men have deep roots in discrimination and violence, whose direct consequences fall overwhelmingly on women; this is why on April 19th, the discussion "Let's Talk About Gender Gaps in the Health Sector" was held at the facilities of the University of Sinú, Santillana campus, led by Dr. Dewin Pérez Fuentes; economist, specialist in finance, economics and gender.

The discussion, which included 50 medical students, focused on the significant employment barriers in the healthcare sector, using indicators to illustrate the widespread gender discrimination. Despite the predominance of women in healthcare professions, some taboos still prevent them from pursuing careers in certain medical and surgical specialties.

Through these spaces, the aim is to show students what the health sector is like, so that they can recognize the gaps in employment for women, always striving for a more just and equitable society.
