From the Social Projection area we develop university actions to address the problems that affect society, generating a real and transformative social impact, reducing inequalities through the promotion, prevention and care of health, cultural, environmental and productive strengthening programs and projects in vulnerable communities.

We promote the transmission of knowledge to society through University Social Responsibility days, institutional projects, agreements with public entities and private organizations, formation of volunteer groups, among other actions, which generate behavioral changes and changes in the physical environment that improve the quality of life of the populations.

Among the projects worth highlighting is the INEM 2024-2027 Macroproject, which aims to strengthen the individual and collective skills necessary to increase the academic performance of the student population at the José Manuel Rodríguez de Torices Educational Institution (INEM) during the intervention period. This will be achieved through collaborative and inter-institutional efforts, promoting health, well-being, and social and environmental responsibility. Currently, our programs and departments are carrying out activities aimed at students, teachers, and parents of the educational institution.

University Social Responsibility Conferences

In the Colombian Caribbean, the Department of Bolívar and the City of Cartagena have led University Social Responsibility initiatives, impacting more than 19,688 people in the last 5 years. These initiatives are made possible through the collaboration of faculty and students from the various departments and areas of our university.

Agreements and alliances with social, community, educational organizations, public entities and private companies.

As a university, we enjoy a reputation for fulfilling and delivering high-quality commitments made in partnership with social, public, and private organizations to improve the quality of life for communities. Among our achievements, we highlight the development of three public policies for the Bolívar Department: Childhood, Adolescence, and Families; Gender Equity and Women's Empowerment in Bolívar; and Mental Health. We have also implemented agreements with the Cartagena Mayor's Office, the Bolívar Comptroller's Office, ECOPETROL, and others.

Unisinú Volunteer Program

Over the years, we have been promoting a volunteer program that integrates volunteers into environmental, health, cultural, and social activities throughout the Department of Bolívar. By 2025, we had over 139 volunteers registered in our database. We are particularly proud of our participation in health campaigns in Barú and Pasacaballos.
