UNISINU HOLDS ARTISTIC EXHIBITION IN MONTES DE MARÍA
The Humanities area of the Universidad del Sinú, Cartagena Section, held an artistic exhibition in Carmen de Bolívar, called “Rescue of Montemarian memory and identity”, making an analysis of the impact of social fabric processes and post-conflict areas. In the intervention process, the researchers Elvis Cárdenas, Claudia Ahumada and Jesús Vergara revealed the artistic pieces created, designed and elaborated by the inhabitants of the municipality.
The historical account of each work represents the events experienced by the Montemarian community, where the new generations were allowed to approach the transformation of the social fabric that occurred at that time. Thus giving as a result, in this research, a sign of hope and resilience for all communities.
Rafael Lascarro, Director of the Leopoldo Lascarro Batista Foundation and an active member of the community, as a cultural and social leader and manager, commented: “The research carried out by the Universidad del Sinú, Elías Bechara Zainúm, Cartagena Section, became a convergence space, where the different agents presented a new way of reading the conflict, while at the same meetings the catharsis of what happened.
The participation of researchers from the University of Sinú, revealed the real needs of the population, where the academy is integrated and identifies points of action to recognize the processes of social reconstruction lived and occurred by the community.
These are the values pursued by the Universidad del Sinú, in a collective construction, through different scenarios of dialogue and citizen participation in the interculturality of the Montemarian community. In the cultural performances, works by: Ray Lascarro, Daniel Suárez, Carmen Cassiani, Julio García and Pedro Hernández stood out.
