FAS inauguration
For the sake of improving the academic processes of the Universidad del Sinú, Cartagena Section, the School of Law in agreement with the District Attorney of Cartagena, carried out the inauguration of the FAS, in the facilities of the Plaza Colón headquarters, a dynamic and open platform provided by our institution for the entire legal community, which will facilitate training and education, as well as the skills and competencies of our students and professionals.
In this formal act we have the presence of our rector Dr. Rolando Bechara Castilla, who addressed the attendees with a few words of welcome. Likewise, the discussion "The JEP: Future and Realism" took place, with the special participation of the criminal lawyer Gloria Bernal, director of the master's degree in Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of Sinú, Montería Section; the French writer Stéphane Chaumet and Dr. Martha Lucia Zamora, lawyer and specialist in the International Criminal Court, who spoke about the processes of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), the reality of the armed conflict and the need to end this problem in Colombia.
The professor of the School of Law, José Fabián Rojas Franco added: “The public hearing room of our university is an important setting for law students, because here we can simulate trials, make students put into practice the knowledge acquired in the classroom and thus acquire greater skills and competencies”
FAS refers to a space referred to Roman mythology where justice and legality are honored and aims to be a place where law, literature, arts, technology, philosophy, ethics and science are integrated, in a contribution to the recovery of humanity.
