The purpose of the Professional in Gastronomy program at the Universidad del Sinú Elías Bechara is:
- Knowledge of regulations and BPM
- Promoter of the safeguarding of traditional regional and national cuisine.
- Defender of national gastronomy as intangible heritage of culture and traditions.
- Educational leadership due to the absence of professional programs in gastronomy in the city and the region.
- The incorporation in the curricula of molecular gastronomy, nanotechnology and biotechnology, as well as the circular economy and responsible consumption, for sustainable gastronomy.
- Articulation of applied research and formative research, at a regional, national and international level, for which research lines and groups are created, which are strengthened with research hotbeds aimed at the development of gastronomic research
