The Agro-industrial Engineering program at the University of Sinú Elías Bechara Zainúm focuses on developing the investigative spirit of future engineers, strengthening their academic foundation in the creation and development of new products that can be marketed in regional, national, and international markets. It also seeks to strengthen the various production chains in the agricultural and livestock sectors. All of this enables engineers to generate comprehensive knowledge so that, through their cognitive and experimental foundations, they can create new agro-industrial companies that drive the economic development of the region and the country.
The program is geared towards the utilization of agricultural, forestry and livestock resources, taking into account environmental policies and sustainable development, as well as the implementation of new technologies applied in agro-industrial processes, being environmentally friendly based on international quality standards.
The training process designed for the School of Agroindustrial Engineering of the University of Sinú – Cartagena Branch, is focused on institutional principles, basing its entire structure on a model where the graduate has foundations and scientific knowledge under principles of equity and justice.
The Agroindustrial Engineering program seeks to provide students with the best elements of the discipline in terms of theories, concepts, methodologies, tools, techniques, technology, research and innovation in the field of Agroindustrial Engineering, since it has a high potential in different fields where they can put into practice the concepts learned during their training process.

To train well-rounded professionals with technical, human, administrative, analytical and innovation skills in the field of Agroindustrial Engineering, identified with the problems and needs of the context, generating solutions that integrate designing, controlling and directing processes of management, transformation and marketing of agricultural products for agroindustrial purposes, allowing them to contribute to the sustainable development of the sector at the regional and national level, and improve the quality of life of the community.

In 2025, the Agroindustrial Engineering Program will be recognized among its peers at the regional level for its achievements, actions, and research projects aimed at strengthening and consolidating academia-society relations with the goal of generating innovative solutions with high social, regional, and national impact.

The Agroindustrial Engineer from the University of Sinú, Elías Bechara Zainúm, is a well-rounded and ethically oriented professional, capable of designing, controlling, and organizing processes that integrate the primary production, processing, and marketing of agricultural products, as well as the utilization of byproducts derived from biological raw materials. They possess technical, human, administrative, analytical, and innovative skills and competencies, serving companies in the agroindustrial sector at the regional and national levels, to improve the quality of life of the community.

The Agroindustrial Engineer graduating from the University of Sinú Elías Bechara Zainúm will develop solid knowledge and skills to perform in high-value positions in the agroindustrial sector in the following areas:
AREA 1: FOOD AGROINDUSTRY
- Plant supervisor in food agro-industries.
- Head of Quality Management Systems.
- Coordinator of agro-industrial research projects in the food sector.
- Manager of agro-industrial companies in the food sector.
- Evaluator and/or controller of projects in the food agro-industrial sector.
- Internal or external auditor of food safety systems under global standards such as HACCP & ISO 22000.
AREA 2: NON-FOOD AGROINDUSTRY
- Plant supervisor of non-food agro-industries.
- Head of Quality Management Systems.
- Coordinator of agro-industrial research projects in the non-food sector.
- Manager of agro-industrial companies in the non-food sector.
- Evaluator and/or controller of projects in the non-food agro-industrial sector.

The student:
- Strengthen knowledge in the field of natural sciences and mathematics, based on the analysis of problem situations, applying processes of categorization, synthesis, classification, interpretation and argumentation.
- Integrate conceptual elements on the main theories of the life sciences and their phenomenological expression in the disciplinary fields of the agri-food field.
- Develop strategies to increase the personal and professional heritage of students and future graduates, through self-motivation for learning throughout professional life.
- Apply entrepreneurship and research as a tool to design and execute solutions that seek to improve the food and non-food agro-industrial sector.
- Assuming an ethically oriented behavior, will guide their actions by humanistic principles, will discover research as a valuable tool for the construction of solutions that favor the improvement of the quality of life of those who constitute their environment in order to contribute to the improvement of society.

If you obtained a Bachelor's degree abroad; must be validated before the Ministry of National Education of Colombia in the City of Bogotá, and if he presented state exams equivalent to the Tests KNOW 11°(previously called ICFES tests) outside the country, you must present them in Colombia or carry out their respective validation before the ICFES in the city of Bogotá before completing your enrollment process in any of the Undergraduate programs offered by the Universidad del Sinú Seccional Cartagena.

Admitted students who have paid the total value of the tuition and decide to withdraw from the university, must inform the corresponding school address in writing, complying with the procedures established by the Registrar's Office within the first 15 business days of starting the academic activities and will be entitled to a refund of the 70% of the value paid for registration; After this date, the student may withdraw and request the cancellation of the semester before the Dean, but will respond to the financial commitment acquired with the University of Sinú.
