The purpose of the Agroindustrial Engineering program at the Universidad del Sinú Elías Bechara is:
-Train professionals with ethical and comprehensive principles, from the agro-industrial sector with a high sense of responsibility, with the ability to advance engineering processes, applied to the transformation of raw materials of biological origin, contributing to promote the development of the food agro-industry such as non-food and the integration of production chains.
-Train agro-industrial engineers with great human talent who lead and draw investment development and sustainability plans with their sector.
-Promote, from its disciplinary and interdisciplinary action, integration with the agro-industrial production sector through local, regional, national and international alternatives.
-Encourage the investigative spirit of students in their professional field and within interdisciplinary teams, in order to generate knowledge and experiences that contribute to the development of the scientific community in general and the population of the department of Bolívar.
The Agroindustrial Engineer of the University of Sinú Elías Bechara Zainúm is a comprehensive and ethically oriented professional, with the ability to design, control and organize processes that integrate primary production, transformation and marketing of products, of agricultural origin, as well as the use of by-products from raw materials of biological origin. With technical, human, administrative, analytical and innovation skills and competencies at the service of companies in the agribusiness sector at a regional and national level, to improve the quality of life of the community.
Upon completion of their training process at the Universidad del Sinú Elías Bechara Zainúm, and within the framework of our educational model, the graduate of the agro-industrial engineering program will be able to:
-Know the composition, properties and changes that occur in raw materials of biological origin for their control and conservation, maintaining quality until they are used.
-Design, innovate and optimize management, transformation and marketing processes of agro-industrial products with ethical criteria and responsibility towards the environment.
-Transfer and adapt appropriate technologies to the different agro-industrial processes.
-Formulate, manage and execute agro-industrial projects.
-Contribute to the solution of problems in the agro-industrial sector with an entrepreneurial spirit.
-Manage agribusiness companies.
The Agroindustrial Engineer graduated from the University of Sinú Elías Bechara Zainúm, will develop the skills to perform with high competencies in the agroindustrial sector, which are detailed below:

The student:
- Strengthen knowledge in the field of natural sciences and mathematics, based on the analysis of problem situations, applying processes of categorization, synthesis, classification, interpretation and argumentation.
- Integrate conceptual elements on the main theories of the life sciences and their phenomenological expression in the disciplinary fields of the agri-food field.
- Develop strategies to increase the personal and professional heritage of students and future graduates, through self-motivation for learning throughout professional life.
- Apply entrepreneurship and research as a tool to design and execute solutions that seek to improve the food and non-food agro-industrial sector.
