The construction of knowledge is a social process, where the analysis of the findings and their comparison between peers are fundamental steps. In these processes, written and oral communication between people is an essential tool. For its part, the disclosure of the results of scientific research is a requirement for compliance with indicators of investigative work, as well as an ethical duty of the researcher's work. However, at the time of writing, students and professionals in the sciences, and particularly in the biological sciences, are constrained by multiple factors.

To consider, basic training in the knowledge of the Spanish language and its diversity of expressions has recently been reduced. The exacerbated supply of audiovisual content has diminished the attractiveness of written texts as a means of access to culture. The structure of traditional training processes challenged by the size of educational proposals, including in higher education, minimize the time available to students for comprehensive reading and reflective analysis of texts. The work-academic environment does not consider the little or no experience of people in the process of expressing their ideas in written form, since it requires them to develop these capacities in an almost intuitive way.

In this context, science students and researchers face multiple challenges that characterize the formulation of research proposals, applications for funding sources, and of course, results reports and scientific articles. In addition, they are rarely aware of the processes and mechanisms for evaluation and peer review or per review, before consolidating the first version of his manuscripts.

So the course Scientific Writing and Dissemination Strategies in Biological Sciences proposes to instruct undergraduate students and young professionals in the biological sciences in basic elements associated with the manuscript formulation process, as a fundamental skill for their development and consolidation as researchers. Although there is no single recipe for the successful development of this process, it seeks to familiarize those interested in basic guidelines for the presentation of background information, methodologies and research results, in oral and written formats. It is also important to introduce future authors to the use of widely available computer tools for editing texts, which facilitate the writing, revision, and formatting of manuscripts and audiovisual products. These tools also favor the attention and efficiency of the author in his writing process. Finally, course students will be introduced to the fundamental steps of the publishing process through peer review or per review, common to the main portals and scientific or knowledge dissemination journals.

At present, this task represents a great difficulty for the students and professionals of the different Universities of the Higher Education System, who until recently entrusted the development of these capacities to the linguistic training processes that are carried out in basic primary education. and secondary.

However, it can constantly be seen that the presentation and order of the documents is not always the most appropriate. The texts present recurring flaws in the logical sense of writing, grammar, spelling, format and writing styles. Worse still, these flaws persist in the products that the students present, despite having computer tools on their own personal computers that greatly facilitate the grammatical and spelling revision of the texts, the adequate referencing of the bibliographic material, and the adjustment of documents to standard formats. Whether due to ignorance or lack of study methods, the writing of any type of text becomes an exhausting exercise, which demands large investments of time on the part of the author; and frustrating, because it does not achieve the expected results, despite the effort and dedication.

In this context, there is an urgent need to offer spaces for the development of strong skills for writing texts, especially aimed at scientific activity in the biological sciences, as a tool that enhances their work performance. Likewise, the realization of this course will offer the possibility to professionals of the biological sciences, to strengthen their capacities for knowledge management through the formulation of written texts.
