The XII Edition of the Week of Art, Culture and Literature is Coming
For the realization of the XII Week of Art, Literature and Culture 2021: For the rescue of the Montemarian Culture, the Humanities Area joined the Unisinuanas Academic and Pedagogical Conference: "On the route for the transformation of lives and crystallization of dreams", with the presentation of three cultural events that opened an agenda of exaltation of the cultural wealth of the Montes de María, especially from the town of El Carmen de Bolívar. These events were coordinated with the Academic and Research Department, within the framework of the celebration of Teacher's Day on May 14, 2021.
As the opening of the day, the "Conversation in honor of the teacher Lucho Bermúdez" was held, distinguished cultural representative of El Carmen de Bolívar. The event was attended by four renowned cultural managers and musicians with national and international experience from our region: Gerardo Varela, Hugo Alandete Junior, Ranulfo Méndez and Alfonso Cárdenas. These distinguished music professionals and deep connoisseurs of the Master, masterfully showed live the influences and contributions of Lucho Bermúdez's musical work in our folklore and in universal music, in a wonderful and unforgettable cultural experience.
Subsequently, the contributions of the Montemariana cuisine were exalted in an artisan sample of traditional sweets and the much celebrated Chepacorina, identity hallmarks of this region, a day that had the support of the School of Gastronomy. Freddy García, Chef de Cuisine of the original Chepacorinas factory, illustrated the entire production process for us and offered us a tasting of this emblematic cookie of the Bolivarian people. Rosa Valdez, a well-known artist, singer and carmera leader, surprised us with her culinary skills, and showed how traditional sugar candies are prepared, which have been a productive family activity and an imprint that has marked her entire life.
As a closing act in celebration of the teaching directors and directors of structures that accompanied us with their presence at the event in honor of the Professor, with the support of University Welfare, a tasting of traditional wines was carried out, originating in Mompox, municipality of the South of Bolívar and a region of great strength and progress. This event revealed the high quality of the native wine culture, in the pleasure of tasting a spirituous "Vino de corozo", accompanied by the classic casabe and layer cheese, ideal for tasting this unique species of vernacular wines. The enjoyment of the exquisite and provincial aromas and flavors reminded us all that the academy and the enjoyment of the senses come together very well in the purpose of excellence.
The Humanities and University Welfare Area invites you to follow the agenda for the entire month of May and to actively participate in the cultural eventsClosing days of the Week of Art, Literature and Culture 2021, on the 24th, 25th and 28th of this month.
