Running 5k Unisinú
Last Sunday, May 19, the first edition of the Running 5K Unisinú was held, a day of integration and recreation aimed at the Unisinu community and, in general, all the citizens of Cartagena de Indias.
The day began at 6:30 in the morning at the Santillana Headquarters of the Sinú University, with a Zumba class led by instructors from the Cartagena District Sports and Recreation Institute (IDER), and after a mandatory warm-up, kicked off the Running 5K.
In the activity, which was free of charge, 700 people participated who made the journey along transversal 54 with intersection with Barrio El Country, to culminate again in the institution's headquarters.
Competitors of all ages signed up for the Running 5K Unisinú, children, adolescents, adults and even older adults accepted the challenge of the 5K, an event where more than activating the competition, it sought to integrate the community of the institution and the city of Cartagena through physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
At the end of the run, the first three men and three first women who crossed the finish line with the best records were awarded prizes. In the same way, all the participants received, after completing the tour, their commemorative medal for their participation in the event and a breakfast to replenish the energy spent in the activity.
