Unisinú Welcomes Its Rector General
The University of Sinú – Elías Bechara Zainúm welcomes Dr. María Fátima Bechara Castilla, who returns to her position as General Rector of our Institution.
Our Rector General has dedicated 35 years of her life to the service of the Universidad del Sinú – Elías Bechara Zainúm, and has been a permanent promoter in the construction of the academic and administrative processes of our Alma Mater.

UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SINÚ – ELÍAS BECHARA ZAINÚM
Dear members of our university community,
Today, with great enthusiasm and pleasure, I return to the institution to which I have dedicated my life for more than thirty-five years. I return to my position as General Rector, aspiring, as always, to count on your invaluable assistance from the entire university community, from the highest management and academic level to the irreplaceable general services. At the end of the day, we are all an articulated team, in which case we are encouraged by the interest that we work with a spirit of team and unity, since that is what the challenges that the 'new normality' has imposed on us require.
I confess that today I find a different world, a society hit by the deadly Covid 19, which has mourned millions of families and has intensely affected our country, which was semi-paralyzed in its economic and social activities for more than a year. Even so, he welcomed the fact that, despite the seriousness of the global and national situation, the progress of the University did not stop, since it managed to overcome and avert adverse circumstances and reached the goals proposed in the development plan, adapting and transforming its work through virtuality, allowing it to continue fulfilling its missionary commitment to society, and especially to all students, our genuine reason for being.
I find a consolidated and strengthened academy, which has made possible achievements of such importance as the recognition of the High Quality Accreditation granted by the National Government to our Institution, which is also due to you, your effort, your mysticism and proven commitment. . Receive all my recognition, as well as my most sincere congratulations.
The General Rector's Office will be open-door, receptive to all the initiatives and challenges of its estates, oriented to achieve the best results in university work.
For all these reasons, it is fair to make an explicit acknowledgment to the directors of the Institution and its officials for their duty fulfilled, who are worthy of the greatest respect and consideration on my part, which will be a constant in the work of the General Rectory, since I highly value the permanent contribution of academics and administrators to this great University for the achievement of its laudable purpose, aimed at finding in our house of studies an authentic and legitimate development option regarding their life projects and personal and professional growth. and academic.
I call you then to unite and ask God, our Father, to guide us, and illuminate the path that leads us, in these difficult times, to travel with faith, temperance, determination and hope for a promising tomorrow, full of satisfaction and achievements. for our university community and for society in general, urgent for new opportunities and useful contributions, as our founding fathers invariably dreamed of, whom we fervently evoke today, those same ones who, with full conviction, instilled in us to keep the flame united lit, the one that I pray we all preserve, so that it does not become extinct or weaken. That is our great commitment, and also that of future generations.
