Course Description
In the exercise of the health profession, it is necessary to attend to and solve the needs of a patient or a specific place that can put the well-being of the community and the environment at risk. Promoting well-being and life is an ethical and professional commitment. At the global level, health problems considered public health problems continuously emerge, their timely detection for the establishment of treatment with the best prognosis, requires continuous surveillance, implementing some statistical tools at the service of epidemiology. The continuous generation of data and the need to make decisions based on these, force the health sciences professional or student to know the basic protocols for managing information for its preparation in favor of its inclusion in statistical software that allows the application of specialized tests to obtain reliable results and from which the respective interpretations can be made.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
Acquire knowledge of basic aspects regarding the design of databases (matrices, data sets), preliminary management (prior to analysis) and its inclusion in specialized software for the application of statistical analysis.
OBJECTIVES SPECIFIC:
Know the importance of data set design, acquire skills for coding and filtering data of interest, identify quick and useful access routes for descriptive and essential analyses.
