Course Description
This course seeks to familiarize students with the main debates on global economic governance. It explores both the historical and contemporary debates on the nature of global economic cooperation, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the different institutional solutions that have been designed over time. The term “global governance” is understood in a broad sense and includes the main aspects of cooperation, the organizations that serve as their framework, both formal and informal (including the G-7/8 and the G-20), and the rules.
Goals:
GThe course is divided into three parts. In the first, the debates on economic governance are placed.
in relation to those related to globalization, and the objectives of international cooperation and the historical evolution of the forms of cooperation that have been created over time are analyzed.
