Colombia is a country with vast marine wealth and until recently an environment of interest has been generated by the State for its resources, provided through the development of the National Ocean Policy. This has given tools to strengthen the knowledge, use and exploitation of marine biodiversity in the country.
Marine sciences in Colombia are a fundamental discipline of biology focused on discovering, understanding, understanding and taking advantage of marine and coastal resources for the country. In this context, it is necessary to encourage students and young researchers to link with the environment and their participation in contributing to the knowledge of marine sciences, its application and effective use from all areas.
The University of Sinú from the School of Marine Biology together with its allies, Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, Environmental Academic Corporation - University of Antioquia, National University of Colombia Caribbean Headquarters, University of Cartagena, invite you to the I Meeting of Young Researchers in Marine Sciences as an initiative of integration, socialization and progress in research in marine sciences.
With this scientific dissemination space, the aim is to present the progress of research in marine sciences, particularly for Colombia, carried out by young researchers (students developing graduate or postgraduate theses and are in the process of training in research), graduates linked to programs for young researchers or research hotbeds, and researchers, and students linked to research hotbeds. It is expected to contribute to the promotion of a research culture in the first levels of research training and especially in the seedbeds in Colombia that are related to marine sciences, and thus stimulate the generation of new research in the area.
In this context, works linked to the different areas of activity that are related to marine sciences are welcome, such as: ecology, biodiversity, systematics and taxonomy, oceanography, bioprospecting, marine pollution, aquaculture, biotechnology, microbiology, biotrade, oceanopolitics and maritime law, international relations, environmental management, marine technologies, assessment of marine resources, society and environment, arts.
