Opening of the Week of Art, Literature and Culture Edition XII: Artistic Exhibition of the Montemarian Culture
As the inaugural event of the XII week of Art, Literature and Culture, the Colloquium took place yesterday: "Art and its impact on the processes of reconstruction of the social fabric in El Carmen de Bolívar", to publicize the most significant results of the research carried out in this population between 2018 and 2020, by teachers from the Humanities Area Elvis Enrique Cárdenas Velásquez, Claudia Margarita Ahumada Klelers and Jesús David Vergara Cuentas, and researchers from the GIPSINU Group of the University of Cartagena Sectional Sinu.
This conversation had the participation of the artist Rose Valdez and cultural managers; Raimundo Lascarro, Carmen Casssini, and Julio Garcia, protagonists of this project and main allies in the investigation for the reconstruction of the social fabric through art.
As a complementary act, the exhibition of paintings that capture the artistic work elaborated by plastic artists, musicians, poets, theater people and other cultural managers who came together in the construction of this magnificent gallery was opened. The planning of the work was guided by the recovery of the carmera memory of its territory and thus the artists and managers who shared with the guests at the opening cocktail were allowed to see.
The entire work seeks to restore hope and the rebirth of the residents of El Carmen de Bolívar towards a new bet where art and culture can motivate progress in reconciliation and forgiveness, towards the construction of a new society that is much more just and with empowerment of their cultural roots.
Within the works we have the representation of life as a gift of nature that bathes the region with the Alférez stream from which all kinds of flowers and fruits sprout, configuring an ecosystem where we all enjoy the same soil.
Music and folklore are distinctive of Carmen de Bolívar. That is why the work could not leave aside the cultural and artistic expression that, in addition to being a heritage for the country, became the cry of resistance in the silence of the conflict.
The flora and fauna of Montes de María constitute a gift that the carmeros know how to be grateful for. That is why exalting them in the work is recognizing the majesty of the territory, remembering that building peaceful environments also implies rebuilding our relationship with nature.
We invite you to continue enjoying this closing agenda for the month of May and the cultural events offered by the XII Edition of the Week of Art, Literature and Culture.
