International Folk Festival
The Saray Castilla de Bechara Auditorium, located in our Santillana headquarters, was chosen by the Cartagena House of Culture to hold a new edition of the International Folk Festival. The event was held thanks to the management of the humanities department in support of the internationalization area.
This cultural event was attended by teachers, administrators and students of our Alma Mater, who enjoyed folkloric and cultural samples from groups from Mexico, Spain and Venezuela.
The event was opened by the group Aztlán, from Mexico, who showed in their presentation ancestral customs of music, dance and poetry from the city of Querétaro, who accompanied by pre-Hispanic instruments recreate the indigenous traditions of the Mexican state.
For its part, the choir and dance group Urraca from the province of Zamora in Spain, won the applause of the attendees thanks to their striking costumes and their repertoire composed of dances and songs originating from this sector of the Iberian Peninsula. The event was closed by the Danzas Carúpano Foundation of the Sucre State of Venezuela, who showed their Danzón Caribe to all those present.
Each group explained the reason for their instruments and clothing, in order for the audience to learn about the customs and traditions of the different countries present at the Festival, delighting the entire Unisinuana community with international and authentic culture.
