Inauguration of the Toy Library in the Educational Institution Ciudadela 2000
The Department of Social Projection, together with the School of Psychology of the University of Sinú, Elías Bechara Zainúm, Cartagena section, inaugurated a toy library at the Ciudadela 2000 Educational Institution, which is projected as a space where the little ones can learn in a playful and entertaining way.
During the day, the students enjoyed activities with reenactors and psychology students from our institution, who enlivened the afternoon with dynamics, music and dance, continuing with the official opening of a new space that will integrate transition and primary school children, encouraging cognitive development, improving learning through games and providing different pedagogical methodologies to teachers when guiding, instructing and educating.
Shirley Agudelo, Coordinator of Social Projection pointed out: “Four years ago, the Social Projection Department began its institutional macro project in the community of Ciudadela 2000, which has had the purpose of creating sustainable processes of socio-family recovery, based on the construction and provision of new spaces for primary health care and social management for the low-income population in sectors surrounding the Ciudadela 2000 Educational Institution, Nelson Mandela and Villa Corelca, through the comprehensive intervention of an interdisciplinary team and the implementation of strategies participatory initiatives that promote the empowerment of social actors in the rehabilitation process, the promotion of the enjoyment of well-being conditions and self-management, allowing the gestation and development of sustainable processes of socio-family recovery and restitution of their rights.”
The teacher of our university Piedad Julio García, a participant in the initiative, expressed: “From the Department of Social Projection, together with the school of psychology, after a whole year of work, today we were able to inaugurate the toy library and we hope to have the support of the entire university, to continue with this great work, managing to raise the name of our institution.”
