Every February 14, Valentine's Day, patron saint of lovers, infects the entire world with emotional manifestations that represent the maximum expression of love and affection. Antonio Juan González Marrugo, a 73-year-old man, is the living proof that Valentine's Day strikes us in different ways, and in his case, love is reflected in the animals that accompany us every day at our Santillana headquarters and Plaza Colon. Almost every day we see the professor of the Faculty of Health Sciences, arrive with the trunk of his car full of food for cats, dogs and pigeons and offer these unconditional beings in a true act of sweetness and kindness that moves those who We are lucky to witness it.
Our appreciated teacher is not only known for his long career of 20 years teaching Pharmacology at our university, but he is also known for being a defender and caretaker of animals. Professor Antonio told me that he has had many pets in his life and has taken care of them so hard, that he wishes that more foundations and people would fall madly in love with them and give themselves the opportunity to selflessly serve these beings worthy of affection that they show us. that true love exceeds the limits of the rational and is also glimpsed in wings, barks and meows.
