School of Nutrition and Dietetics launches an e-book on the Human Right to Food in times of COVID-19
The School of Nutrition and Dietetics of the University of Sinú Elías Bechara Zainúm, Cartagena Section, within the framework of the University Alliance for the Human Right to Adequate Food (ALUDHAA) and with the endorsement of the Office of Interinstitutional Relations of the University, carried out the official delivery of a e book of free access, complying with the authorization of the Research Directorate, as an initiative to guarantee the right to Adequate Food in Colombia.
East e book It is the first academic product that arises from the University Alliance for the Human Right to Adequate Food (ALUDHAA). It is an initiative from the Academy to unite efforts and technical and scientific capacities of universities throughout our country, interested in generating actions that promote and guarantee the Human Right to Adequate Food of the Colombian population, emphasizing in the COVID-19 pandemic.
In this sense, 14 universities during the month of March 2020, accepted the invitation to participate in the constitution of ALUDHAA. In the case of the Universidad del Sinú, Lyda Ximena Mora Cubillos, Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition, who is also a Research Professor at the School of Nutrition and Dietetics, represented and led the processes from the program, as a fundamental member of the Alliance in mention.
The e book, which bears the title: Learnings on the Human Right to Food in times of COVID-19: contributions and reflections from the Academy, is made up of 10 chapters, of which the teachers and researchers Maritza Díaz Rincón and Lyda Ximena Mora Cubillos, the School of Nutrition and Dietetics of the University of Sinú, Cartagena Section, participate as authors.
The ALUDHAA for its part, is made up of Territorial Units, belonging to the University of Sinú, Cartagena Section, together with the Metropolitan University and the University of the Atlantic, in the Atlantic Territorial Unit.
Currently, from the School of Nutrition and Dietetics, joint work is being carried out with the different Schools of the Sinú University, allied Universities of the Caribbean Region such as the Metropolitan University and the Atlantic University, and government actors, in order to strengthen efforts and generate intersectoral actions that contribute to improving the quality of life of the population of the Colombian Caribbean Region.
