In the city of Bogotá, the 45th Congress was held: National Surgical Week of ASCOL "The rebirth of the science and art of surgery", in which the coordinators, teachers and residents of the specialty of surgery participated with academic posters. General Surgery of the University of Sinú, Elías Bechara Zainúm, Cartagena section.

The participating posters were: Laparoscopic Management of a Case With Type III Mirizzi Syndrome, Situs Ambiguous in a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Aberrant Gallbladder (Sinistraposition), Congenital Cystic Lymphangioma, "APPLE PEEL Syndrome", "Traumatic Brachial Artery Aneurysm", " Synchronous Presentation of two Primary Tumors: Colon Adenocarcinoma and Renal Cell Carcinoma. Case Report”, and “Stump Appendicitis in a Case of Intestinal Obstruction”, During this space, the National Surgical Resident Skills Contest was also held, in which the work and participation of the group of residents and surgeons was praised. of our institution: Carlos López R2, Sergio Ramírez R2, Carlos Lozano de Ávila R3, Anuar Sáez R4, and Dr. Nayib Zurita, professor of the specialty.

It is of great importance to highlight that once again, one of our graduates: Dr. Carlos Mario Gutiérrez, a member of the General Surgery program, was chosen by the Colombian Association of Surgery as one of the Fellows of the “Surgeons for New Colombia” program. granting economic support and participation in all the academic and social activities of the American Congress of Surgery that will take place in San Francisco - California, in the month of October.

It is worth noting that in the previous version of this event, the graduates of this same specialty: Dr. Carlos Manuel Esquivia Pinzón and Dr. Katherine López Baldiris, also received this recognition and participated in the American Congress of Surgery, held on that occasion, in the city of Boston.
