The Library of the University of Sinú, Cartagena section, participated in the II International Congress of Specialized and Academic Libraries - COBAES 2019, a space for discussion and reflection on the changes that currently affect university libraries and that allows us to glimpse strategies that help them continue to play a useful role in the field of higher education. 

The event that took place in the city of Medellín, became the appropriate space to reflect on the current transformations that the processes of university libraries imply, allowing the creation of strategies that make visible the usefulness and good use of them in the entities. of higher education. Within the thematic axes that were shared, were the real Information policies and their impact on the development of research in information sciences, as well as the contribution of academic libraries to the development of communities, among others.

Miguel Gómez Meza, coordinator of technological and documentary resources of the Library of the University of Sinú, Cartagena Section, commented: “For us it was a privilege and an honor to have been able to participate in this event, in which we shared with various speakers at a national and international level, who addressed various topics around the Library with meaning, focused on providing services to the university community; We also had the opportunity to evaluate the different library innovations, concluding that the Elías Bechara Zainúm Library, Cartagena section, is at the forefront of many issues”.
