Research Diploma supported by Jackson State University
Within the framework of international cooperation, the Preventive and Community area of the University of Sinú, Elías Bechara Zainúm, Cartagena Section, with the support of the School of Public Health of Jackson State University of Mississippi in the United States, began a Seminar – International Research Workshop, which seeks institutional strengthening in research and internationalization issues, through the creation of a diploma course with participating teachers from Cartagena and Montería.
This first phase of the project began with activities for the generation of the network and the promotion of the development of capacities in research topics, allowing it to increase its capacity for scientific production and in the same way generate research initiatives.
Through the methodology taught by the doctor and professor Nelson Atehortua De la Peña, from Jackson State University, the final result of the process under development is to produce six research articles (PAPERS) in English and Spanish, with the quality that is demanded. a journal of public health research at an international level, in addition to its presentation at a congress in the Poster and Presentation modality. “The purpose is to organize a research system at the internal level, which allows the goal of generating publications by the university to reach international bodies.” Atehortua affirmed.
“This is a great opportunity for the teaching staff of our institution, since Jackson State University is an accredited university in public health issues in the US and the world, this will allow us to strengthen the teaching staff and the research and internationalization processes of the university. faculty of health sciences and preventive and community area. Therefore, alliances, workshops and subsequent activities will continue to be generated to continue with this initiative of the diploma course”. These projects are focused on the academic and professional development of our teaching community, which themselves generate new experiences and opportunities to strengthen learning.
