Forum: Sexuality as a Factor of Domestic Violence
With the participation of the General of the Cartagena Metropolitan Police Henry Armando Sanabria, the representatives of the Federation of Community Action Boards (FEDEJAC) and the Secretary of the Participation Board, the School of Law and the Legal Office of the University of Sinú , Cartagena Section, held in the auditorium of the Plaza Colón Headquarters, the forum entitled: Sexuality as a factor of domestic violence.
During the forum, the guests explained the most common causes of this problem that greatly affects different populations in the city of Cartagena and tried to answer whether sexuality is a factor that generates domestic violence and femicide, in which the experts they shared their theories and cases, from their areas of knowledge.
Given this, Nubia Coronel, Coordinator for Women's and Women's Affairs, added: “We must be able to go to the communities to motivate and stimulate processes that develop participatory development actions in individuals. It is important to invest efforts to make people aware and with this gradually reduce the figures of domestic violence in our department.”
One of the purposes of the Legal Office of our institution is to develop programs and formulate projects that can make the need for the active participation of women in the different spaces of the District of Cartagena a reality, strengthening the female guild through activities that generate a greater impact, awareness and citizen participation.
