THE TRAINING DAYS ON DIGITAL LITERACY FOR OLDER ADULTS CONTINUE
The School of Systems Engineering of the University of Sinú, Elías Bechara Zainúm, Cartagena Section, in agreement with the Casa de Amigos Corporation with World Reach, held the second Digital Literacy Workshop aimed at older adults in the community of Flor del Campo.
This initiative aims to generate basic skills in attendees and encourage the use and appropriation of tools that allow them to communicate efficiently and collaboratively. Likewise, encourage the strengthening of motor skills, the development of social skills and motivation towards the use of technologies. On this occasion, the workshop addressed issues related to the basic operation of the computer, Internet access and the creation and usability of emails.
Through the applied characterization instrument, it was identified that most of the attendees are mothers who are heads of households with primary education, who expressed their satisfaction for participating in this learning model that allows them to address new topics and learn about the digital world.
The workshop was held in the Basics room of the Plaza Colón campus, and was led by teachers María Claudia Bonfante, Wilson Moscote and Eugenia Arrieta, in the company of student volunteers from the School of Systems Engineering: Richard Fuentes, Estaban Campuzano , Oscar Hoyos, Jesús Pérez, Brandon Pérez and Angélica Domínguez, who assisted adults in a personalized way.
