In commemoration of the day of the Optometrist, a series of activities were carried out to honor all the professionals and students of the University of Sinú, Elías Bechara Zainúm, Cartagena Section.

The School of Optometry was in charge of celebrating this day, providing attendees with a space for interesting and dynamic activities, focused on the academic, personal and social growth of all guests.

The start of the day was in charge of Dr. Carlos Alfonso Rojas, Director of the School of Optometry, who offered the Keynote Conference: PENTACAM AXL 2019, one of the latest optometric equipment worldwide with cutting-edge technology, for the study of the anterior segment cornea and with which we currently have in our practice scenarios for the benefit of patients and students.

Likewise, the IX Semester Student Panel: Refractive Correction was held, which was developed with an academic theme and intended to put into practice different skills of oral expression and public presentation, through a dynamic that consisted of experiencing how students of IX semester they face clinical cases from the simplest to the most complex.

This was a full day, where the internationalization processes of our Alma Mater were also promoted, in such a way that the guests learned from the teacher Iván Lugo, what are the benefits and advantages that institutional mobility processes generate, not only in relation to academic exchanges, but from the tools of virtual libraries and audiovisual aids, used so that those interested can manage content in the English language and thus learn about optometry, not only from the national level, but around the world.

Dr. Carlos Alfonso Rojas highlighted: “We really feel proud to be Optometrists. We love optometry and we want to convey this happiness to you, because we are part of this beautiful community that is the University of Sinú”.
