UNISINU PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT DAY
In commemoration of Accountant's Day, the University of Sinú, Elías Bechara Zainúm, Cartagena Section, paid tribute through special events to all students and graduates of our institution.
The School of Public Accounting and the Colombian Association of Public Accounting Faculties ASFACOP, organized the discussion "The Role of Trust in the Public Accounting Profession", where they discussed the importance of the role of an accountant within companies and highlighting the security that a professional in this area must generate.
The presentation was directed by Dr. Carlos Alberto Vargas González, head of public accounting at the University of Medellín, who was in charge of highlighting the role of trust in this profession, based on public faith as a transcendental factor that has been broken over time, due to erroneous mechanisms in the work of the market.
In addition, the students participated in the discussion "Accounting as a Science: Knowing Beyond the Rules" held in association with the Association of Public Accountants and with the participation of Rafael Franco Ruiz, representative before the Central Board of Accountants.
Additionally, the Coordination of Graduates in conjunction with the Directorate of the School of Public Accounting offered the professionals graduated from our Alma Mater, a talk by professor Luis Carmona Movilla, in which they discussed the current macroeconomic context of Colombia and how it benefits or affects the accountants' guild. In the same way, a special space was developed to deal with issues such as Tax Procedures, Income Taxes of Legal Entities, Sales Taxes, among others.
