Scientific advances in the field of medicine are generated more quickly, it is like this as the training of professionals with research skills is a priority in higher education; however, reading and writing skills are not always accompany the educational processes in health professionals.

Raising the offer of the scientific writing course for doctors and health professionals in general would provide new horizons in the effective scientific publication of professionals from the Caribbean Region and Colombia in general.

This course arises from the need to acquire scientific writing skills for original articles and letters to the editor, among others. In this sense, it is of the utmost importance to prepare medical students, doctors aspiring to medical specialties, and specialists in the basic strategies for writing a scientific article according to the guidelines of the Vancouver standards.
