Our history<\/h2>\n

The story of the <\/span>Sin\u00fa University Corporation \u201cEl\u00edas Bechara Zain\u00fam\u201d<\/b> It is the result of the doctor's vision <\/span>Elijah Bechara Zainum<\/b>, a prominent educator who, after founding the University of C\u00f3rdoba and various secondary and intermediate education institutions, identified the need to create a university that would respond to the demands of knowledge in areas such as administrative sciences, jurisprudence and health sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n

Origin and consolidation in Monter\u00eda<\/b><\/p>\n

The <\/span>April 29, 1974<\/b>In the city of Monter\u00eda, C\u00f3rdoba, the <\/span>Higher Educational Corporation of C\u00f3rdoba (CESCO), <\/b>Offering programs in Business Administration at the technical-professional level, Languages, Educational Administration, and Social Work. Thanks to its growth, in <\/span>1977<\/b> It obtained legal status through Resolution 12154 of the Ministry of National Education (MEN), consolidating itself as a key institution in higher education in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In 1980 the\u00a0law program<\/a>, which became the engine of institutional development, taking into account that its operation gave life to the Center for Legal, Social and Political Research (Agreement 045 of July 10, 1982) as an essential tool for promoting research and the development of other academic programs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n\t

In <\/span>1984, CESCO<\/b> evolved and transformed into the <\/span>University Corporation of Sin\u00fa (CUS)<\/b>, recognized by Resolution 13000 of August 30. This transformation allowed it to expand its academic offerings and strengthen its organizational structure, laying the foundations for what would later become the <\/span>Sin\u00fa University Corporation \u201cEl\u00edas Bechara Zain\u00fam\u201d,<\/b> a private higher education institution with a distinguished track record of growth and academic excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Institutional strengthening continued and, in <\/span>2019<\/b>The main office in Monter\u00eda received the <\/span>Institutional Accreditation<\/b> Through Resolution No. 0006197 of June 13, recognition was given to the commitment to educational quality. That same year, <\/span>Saray Castilla de Bechara<\/b> She was awarded the Order of Boyac\u00e1, the highest distinction granted by the National Government, in recognition of her contribution to educational development in Colombia.<\/span><\/p>\n

In <\/span>2023<\/b>, the <\/span>Headquarters<\/b> In Monter\u00eda, it achieved the renewal of its Institutional Accreditation through Resolution No. 008917 of May 29, consolidating its academic quality and commitment to educational excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Expansion and growth: Cartagena branch and Bogot\u00e1 headquarters<\/b><\/p>\n

As part of its growth, the University expanded its educational coverage with the opening of the <\/span>Cartagena branch in 1999 <\/b>with the programs of<\/span> Medicine and Dentistry<\/b>allowing more students to access quality education.<\/span><\/p>\n

In <\/span>2004,<\/b> The institution achieved a significant milestone by receiving official recognition as a university through Resolution 4973 of December 29, marking a new stage in its academic consolidation and the creation of its first research groups.<\/span><\/p>\n

The impact of the <\/span>Cartagena Sectional<\/b> It continued to expand with key milestones:<\/span><\/p>\n

2007:<\/b> Opening of the Plaza Col\u00f3n Headquarters, strengthening its presence in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

2010:<\/b> Its founder, <\/span>Elijah Bechara Zainum<\/b>He received the Order of Boyac\u00e1 Decoration, in recognition of his educational work.<\/span><\/p>\n

2013:<\/b> The Faculty of Health Sciences was opened on the Santillana Campus, and the first research groups were classified by Colciencias.<\/span><\/p>\n

In <\/span>2016,<\/b> The University further expanded its reach with the opening of the <\/span>Bogot\u00e1 Headquarters<\/b>, reinforcing its commitment to higher education in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

In <\/span>2023,<\/b> Several programs at the Cartagena branch were accredited for high quality, including Dentistry, Systems Engineering, and Information Systems Management Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

In <\/span>2024<\/b>New programs such as Medicine, Nutrition and Dietetics, International Business Administration and Law received high-quality accreditation, reflecting the institution's commitment to academic excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, the Corporaci\u00f3n Universidad del Sin\u00fa \u201cEl\u00edas Bechara Zain\u00fam\u201d continues to advance in its mission to train ethical professionals committed to society, consolidating itself as a leading institution in higher education in Colombia.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>
